Anyways, its been a very eventful month thus far. My brother-in-law was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis or more commonly known as M.S. Its caused by damage to the myelin sheath, the protective covering that surrounds nerve cells. When this nerve covering is damaged, nerve impulses are slowed down or stopped.
The nerve damage is caused by inflammation which occurs when the body's own immune cells attack the nervous system. So jerking of the muscles or loss of motor control is very common. BIL was displaying this symptom at Easter dinner with the family. He was limping and admitted that he couldn't feel temperature on his right leg. We thought it was just a pinched nerve or a slipped disk or something! But we never imagined it was going to be such a serious disease. So its been a rough ride these last couple weeks. But he's been a trooper! Taking it all in stride and dealing with it one day at a time.
Well, on a lighter note we had a wonderful day at the park with one of my mommy friends, Lisa. Clara is absolutely, undeniably, and completely in love with Lisa's son, Lincoln. As soon as we pulled up next to her van, Clara and Linc made eye contact from their car seats and made toddler googly eyes. When we released them and put them down next to eachother...they hugged eachother and held hands.
So they scooted their little hearts out on a gorgeous little trail that had another park at the end of it, and we took a little break
Poor Linc had to share his yummy sippy cup with the whole group, because a certain Momma (this girl!) forgot it in the car! So we played, then scooted on back to the main park. Clara was totally on a roll with her scootin' and wouldnt slow down for nothing! Not even her boyfriend, when she wrecked her tricycle. Dont worry, there were no casualties.
;P I managed to get a pic of the aftermath. Poor Clara looked a little confused....like "WTH? One minute I'm scootin and the next thing I know my bike is upside down in the leaves and I have a boo-boo!! This sucks!"
Well that pretty much sums it all up so far! We'll keep ya updated!
